  • Mixing fluids questions

I've been messing with mixing fluids together, and have a few questions. They sort of flow (ha!) into one another..

    1. Is it possible to mix fluids of two different substances together, like honey and milk?
    2. The phoenix texture map used for mixing seems a bit limited, how would i have like one opaque, and one clear fluid mix together (assuming they are in the same fluid sim container), like an actual vray blend material or something.
    3. I was trying to do something like pour creamer into coffee, but i was kind of confused on how to start with, for example, a full cup of coffee and then pour creamer into it. What I ended up doing was emitting from the end of a sphere for my creamer and then had a duplicate of the inside of my mug which I did an initial fill on. These are all running in the same Sim grid. I see some options to cascade the simulators, but have never messed with them, is that what I would want to end up doing? Thanks!

    Hello,

    1. Mixing liquids with different densities is still on the to do list.
    2. You can use the RGB channel as a mask for blending between two materials. I have attached a simple scene how this works.
    3. You can find out more about the Cascade here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/PHX3MAX/Liquid+Grid
