  • Resimulating

    Hi there,
i did a more or less heavy simulation include wetmap, foam and mist.
after rendering the sequence i saw that the wetmap dry's too quickly. So just to be sure, when i want to resimulate the wetmap only do i have to untick foam, or do he kills the foam simulation then?

    best regards

    Hey,

If you check foam resimulation and uncheck foam, then it will get deleted. You just need to resimulate with wetmap checked and foam and splash unchecked

That sounds dangerous ... maybe better to have a 'remove' checkbox for each or something along those lines lol

thx for the clarification svetlin. I do agree with flipbook though. i feel a bit crumbly this way. Its too easy to mess it up unintended..
and backup the phx files before resimulating everytime is quite hard. 127GB and up for the moment

          Hey guys,

The logic is simple - what you have checked for resimulation will get resimulated. If you resimulate it with disabled simulation for that particle system, I think it's expected that it would get removed

          Cheers!

The logic is simple ja. but wouldn't it be more user friendly if there's a remove Foam or whatever channel mode from simulation in the corresponding tab, and leave the channel untouched when resimulating and turned off? maybe nonense.. just a thought.
here's the rendered simulation i'am sittin on. still wip though

thanks! Still strugglin with the wetmap though.. dont like the part on the up right corner where the water hits the rocks. resimulated the wetmap over night to prevent too fast drying. but coudln't get good result yet..
