  • Simulating on Deadline

    Hi,

Im trying a test to see if i can get 3 simulators to sim in deadline.

I have selected the sims in order and have gone up to Phoenix fd in maya, and selected the submit to deadline. Then i have put the repository for deadline in.

Once submitted to the farm i get this error and cant seem to the sims to simulate?

Error: Renderer returned non-zero error code 211. Check the renderer's output.

    at Deadline.Plugins.PluginWrapper.RenderTasks(String taskId, Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, String& outMessage, AbortLevel& abortLevel)

Am i missing something, we only have one license of phoenix fd and 4 vray licensees on the farm.
They render phoenix sims fine but cant get the sims to simulate?
Does it need a full license on the farm for this to work?

    Cheers

Oh, Phoenix for Maya engages a V-Ray license in order to sample textures that might be used during the sim. This is because sampling textures the native Maya way is horribly slow. The V-Ray license is engaged no matter if you have any textures or not.

You can turn this off from the Phoenix global preferences dialog. This will affect only the machine and Maya version where you disabled it.

    Hope this helps!
