  • Foam and splashes do not render when Vray Aerial Perspective is turned on.

Pretty simple problem really - as the title says.

    Hey,

Did you search the docs of the forums first? This topic is being raised pretty often and we've answered it multiple times.

    Thank you!

I searched this forum but didn't find anything. Although search the web helped - I tend to use the search function on the forum.

Anyway, so I change the effects order?

I think there is just something wrong with how things are drawn into the distance... look at these tenders, two different machiens (AMD and intel) - notice the the horizon is is not reflected in one?

If that was the only problem I could render to one machine, but there is sill flickering.

I can answer this one as I had the same problem. If you are using 3dsmax, in the environment panel change the layer order of phoenix, then aerial perspective or the other way (can't remember).

That's it, simple but not obvious. Good luck!

... or if reordering does not work for the particular scene, switch the Simulator into Volumetric Geometry render mode and enable 'Render as Geometry' in the Particle Shaders.

          Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback - but there is another component to this question you might not have noticed.

The flickering of the rendering of the HDRI at the horizon

Have a look at this animation please

And this doesn't work anyway, I cant see any ocean now.

Also, that horizon line issue - seems to be the vray ground plane - seems as if the ocean levels keeps bobbing up and down - fiddlign with the smoothness and roughness doesn't help.

The ocean horizon just doesn't like the vray ground plane - which is essential for shallower water.

                  Hi there.

Until we fix that problem with the v-ray plane and the horizon, remove the v-ray plane and make a regular-big-enough plane and that will easily work around the problem.

Volumetric Geometry mode for the Simulator is needed if you have any other volumetrics and you are rendering in Volumetric mode If you are already rendering in ocean mode, you don't want to put the simulator in volumetric mode. If foam and splash flicker, then it's the particle shader's 'render as geometry' you need to enable.
