  • Ocean sim displacement issue

    Hi guys,
    I have setup a cross section of an ocean by using cutter geometry in the rendering rollout and the oceantex displacement seems to be affecting the water below the surface.
    Is there a way to have just the surface displaced?

    Yes indeed, the displacement affects everything. Maybe use the V-Ray Clipper instead?

      Hello Svetlin,
      The clipper brings up a few issues as well.
      I think I will have to composite a displaced render to get the surface and then a non-displaced render for the underwater stuuf.

        Ahhh, probably the clipper cannot close the geometry since the ocean is just an open sheet of geometry. How about using a Fade Volume - e.g. a non-renderable box, placed underneath the ocean level, so it suppresses the displacement there?
