  • Open Program stops Simulation

    Hi,

if I simulate something in a scene and start another instance of Maya, Nuke or Chrome Browser this simulation stops and I have to restore it to continue with the simulation.

Did anyone made the same experience?

I use Maya 2019.3.1, Phoenix FD 4.20.01 Nightly BuildID 2020081830279, Vray 5 for Maya, hotfix 1(v5.00.21 from Aug 21 2020)

    Cheers!

Are you sure you have not hit the ESC keyboard key by accident? It's a new thing in the nightlies to stop running simulations. You can turn it off from the Phoenix Preferences: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ces-Parameters

      Hi,

you're right, I always open Programs with CTRL ESC and then type in the Program I want to open (Win 10). Didn't knew that you stop simulations with ESC by default.

      Thanks a lot!

      Cheers

Oh, this is good to know! Gotta think more about the ESC key then...

I'm not sure how the others open Programs, I searched the Forum and didn't found anything about it.
So I guess others open Programs maybe different or they know the Problem or they disabled this option like you told me.

Is this option checked by default? I'm not sure maybe I checked it and is off by default.

Ah, but perhaps you are using a keyboard without a WINDOWS key or you are not using Windows 10 so you need this shortcut to open the program search in the Windows Start menu?

I have a WINDOWS Key but never use it. I'm used to push CTRL and ESC
