  • Liquid always penetrates barrel wall

    Hi,
No matter how thick our barrel wall is or how many steps is simulation liquid goes through barrel walls. Our barrels get hit by a car and liquid is supposed to spill. How can we stop it from going through walls. Thanks

    Hey,

Could you check if your barrel geometry is closed?
You can do that by adding a STL Check from the Modifier List. Enable the Check option and view the Status to ensure the model is free from errors.

    Thanks!

Hi, It has no errors. I attached the file. If you simulate you can see tiny droplets even though SPF is set to 10

I also forgot to link the cylinder to the barrel in the file. That's liquid generator

          Hey,

Thanks for the scene! The first thing I did was to make the barrel's wall thicker. Another thing was to decrease a bit the cylinder's radius and move it up on Z axis, this way the barrel and the cylinder geometries are not intersecting each other. These steps seem to help in the example scene you sent us.

Could you try if these steps will help in your scene?

          It's important to mention that I'm using Phoenix 4.41 Nightly from 28.06.21 - https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com/mai...est/2021-06-28.

Could you tell us which is your Phoenix version?

In order to find out the exact Phoenix version you can check the About info window. 3ds Max/Maya → Top 3ds Max/Maya Phoenix FD Menu → About Phoenix.

          Cheers!
