  • New Phoenix 5.0 Crash!

    Hello to all!

Today I've installed the new Phoenix 5.0, I use 3ds Max 2022 and Corona Renderer.
Once any Phoenix simulation is finished and calculated, each time I run the interactive render of Corona and then moving the animation bar or selecting the main Phoenix generator object, results on a crash of 3ds Max!

Do you have a similar issue on this?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dionysios -

    Hey,

We've managed to reproduce the crash. Thanks for the report and we will update the thread as soon as we have more information.

Ah, found it - sadly, Corona will need a recompile with the Phoenix 5 SDK - as with every major version, our SDK changes and even though this time the changes are super minimal, they still cause misalignment.

Eventually this might affect other plugins that speak to Phoenix as well, so they will need to roll out new versions with Phoenix 5 support as well.

Thanks for your update, positive that we know what's going on, negative the ball is passed to the Corona team now.
Excuse me for the question, can you contact them directly or I need to open a ticket in their forum?

          Thanks for your support,

                    Dionysios,

Are you able to confirm if this bug is fixed in the official Corona 8 hotfix that was released yesterday? (assuming you've upgraded to that from the daily)?

                    Cheers!

Hi, unfortunately I had no time to try as I am quite busy on other productions right now which are not using Phoenix.
Tonight I can try and I'll let you know if is ok for you.

                      Thanks,

So I've tried a while ago and everything works fine now!
FYI, I use the new Corona 9 Daily Build which contains the fix as well for Phoenix.

                        Thanks,
