  • Help: BAKE to Texture loses specular

I understand that specular refection's are view dependant. Its not obvious how to bake them into a texture map

The left image shows a render of the baked texture map and the right images show what the render 'should' look like

Specular refection's are lost in the baked textures (vRayCompleteMap)

There are no options ( as far as i can tell ) to specify a camera when rendering to texture . So how do I fix this ? I can bake reflections in Arnold but rebuilding the scene will change the look

Hi, thanks for posting. This difference is most probably due to the camera angle. Baking is done trough a different camera to what you are rendering your image and the speculars are different/lost.
You can bake from a specific camera using this script:

    renders.current.camera_bakeCamera=
