  • Phoenix simulation not working (copied from one machine to another)

    Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a scene and cache files coming in from an animator which Im trying to load up to render. It works on his machine, but copying the scene file and the cache over, when I render I get nothing.
Is there a correct procedure for loading up a cache from another machine?
I just cant seem to get it to work.

    Thanks in Advance
    Matt

    Hey,

Do you see the caches in the viewport and is there information in the Cache File Content box located in the Simulation rollout?

Could you tell us your exact Phoenix version and the Phoenix version on the other machine? In order to find out the exact Phoenix version you can check the About info window. 3ds Max β†’ Top 3ds Max Phoenix FD Menu β†’ About Phoenix.

Also, could you check the information in the Phoenix log file. The Phoenix log is created in: C:\ChaosPhoenix.

    Thanks!

      slavina.nikolova thank you!

It turns out we were on different versions of Phoenix, the log pointed me to the error which led to an install of the correct version which led to it working!

      Many Thanks!
