  • Lines in smoke sim

    Hi all

We're getting some lines in a smoke sim.

We've upped the smoke voxel count and upped the polys in the emitter geo and tube geo.

    Any ideas

    Cheers

    Hey,

Can you tell us which are your exact Phoenix and V-Ray versions? In order to find out the exact Phoenix version you can check the About info window: Maya > Top Maya Phoenix FD Menu > About Chaos Phoenix. You can find the V-Ray version in the Render settings window > Settings tab > About V-Ray rollout.

Also, could you show us your Simulator and Source settings?

    Thanks!

      Hi Slavina

      We're on:
      Phoenix
      Version: 5.20.00, Build ID: 20230706

      V-Ray
      V-Ray 6 for Maya, update 1 (v6.10.00 from May 22 2023)

Here's the first settings for the Simulator and Source.

Is there an easy way to upload all settings? I don't think I've changed much

      Cheers

        Hey,

Can you send us over a simplified scene, so we could check it?

        Thanks!

            Hey,

            Please check this link:
            https://drive.google.com/file/d/10HO...SYeakIqvA/view

It might give you some ideas how to negate this effect. And why this is happening in a first place. It is in MAX, but the same principle should apply to Maya.

I hope that this is helpful.
            Cheers
