Recently I tried to use Phoenix as clouds
I have experienced lighting issue - it appears when I put a some kind of ground into the scene (vrayplane or just an ordinary plane)
As seen in attachments


It looks like it is related to rendering bracket (default 64x64) but with some blur (around2 pixels)
Also I have found that to have some bright clouds and visible direct illumination on them you have to brighten light (in my case multiplier = 10) an to leave sky brightens intact set manual sun node multiplier as it was not modified (=1).
I have already set my diffuse channel cloud to white and light multiplier = 2 (when i set 4 i have to bright skylight influence).

light multiplier = 4
It would be nice to have more fluent solution for setting up such behaviour.
I still have some isuues with setting some phong-like lighting - some thing like this:
