  • Animated texture in temperature - weird behaviour

I have a really simple setup. See attached image.

There is just some scattered ticks, that have a gradient ramp texture animated from left to right. I'm using that map as a Temperature map in PHXsource for the ticks.
When I try to simulate, everything kinda stops after few frames. The temperature moves with the map, but there isn't any "fluid" movement after that. If you turn the smoke on, you can see the freezing effect better.

i suppose in some point of the map the temperature becomes zero.
when non uniform density conservation is used, the zero temperature means infinite density

Like Katev sad, you can't have temperatures at the absolute zero. But we tried to fix this in the next nightlies since it's not user friendly and we had similar complains. The temperature is internally increased to a small number. I suspect that there isn't universal number to fix all cases, so keep in mind that this can happen if you use numbers near 0.

          Thank you guys!

I didn't realise that the temperature is actually going to zero when using black texture, but of course it is... what other value could there be in the lowest. Stupid me!

I'll try the latest nightly build.

300 is the environment temperature, better use this instead zero.
i know our measure units (kelvins) are a bit confusing, but the advantage is that you know the lighting temperature
