  • 2 Liquid Questions

    Hi there,

I allways having the problem when simulation liquids that the liquid seems to dissapear like simulating smoke with dissipation. as shown in this example here the first frames.
the 2nd one is the liquid seems to "growing" faster at sec. 2.

could someone give a hint maybe?

    thanks and best regards

    Whats your scale?
Try 3-5 times bigger than real world scale.
Also, sharpness should be 0,5 or above, otherwise it could loose small droplets.
SPF with 3 or bigger could be worth to test.

      Thanks for your tips!
For the moment i used real world scale, Sharpness of 0,4 and SPF 6.
So i'll try to scale the scene up and raise the sharpnes.

      Thanks and best regards

the liquid disappearing/increasing is related to the advection and spf settings. the classic advection does not keep the liquid quantity, if you need exact liquid quantity, use FT. keep in mind that FT can't reach absolutely flat and still surface

          Thanks Ivaylo.
And is there a way to control the Internal Pressure?

what you mean with internal pressure?

i meant a parameter to control the expansion of the fluid. like filling bigger volumes. as far as i know its int. pressure in realflow.
or do i handle this with spf? with FT the simulation looks quite nice, but needs time to fill a volume.

In my test you can see its possible to get calm surface after pouring, but with classic method. I also occurred disappearing volume during the pouring, but after tweaking spf and scale I get it in control.

well, we don't have such a parameter, the goal of the simulation is to preserve the liquid quantity, when the spf is too low it may increase or decrease, depending on the situation.

nice test Tommi! looking realy great. did you get rid of the "sparks" on the edges of the milk? this is happing here too. i try'd to handle it with meshing, like surface level and ms but had no luck on it.

ok thanks ivaylo. will it be there one time maybe? . its quite usefull imo.

about the edge sparks, i suppose they are formed in the edges of the voxelized glass. the best way is to cut them with gizmo.
