As soon as the nightly builds are back online - hopefully today or tomorrow, there is a fix there you can try and say if it makes any difference.

Hello, the nightly builds with the attempted fix are out, can you try if it makes a difference? (most max versions are in the folder of Oct 21st)

finally got a chance to test it out. the problem still persists, however this time I did receive an error message upon write of the 1st 5kb frame. i'm currently using v25087. thanks!

Seems like you can't write files over 32MB over the network. We will add a fix for this, but just for the sake of clarity - what OS do you use, and can you save anything else big from 3ds max, for example a vray proxy or some GI map, anything over 32 megs?

yes, the number 32 sounds like a good value for a hidden limitation. we will try to workaround it, but would be very good to know what is causing it.

hi, thanks very much! these boxes are winXP x64 (don't laugh). yes, the boxes write all other caches fine: fumefx, vray gi maps, TP cache data, etc. thx again!

Copy that, the docs say that xp 64 has issues over 32 megs, we will add a workaround.

i'm also with xp64, never had such a problem, but if this is an official info, there is no doubt that this is the problem and we will workaround it

this is great news guys - that is to have a 'known' issue that could be causing it. thx so much for looking into a workaround!

Hello and sorry for the long delay - in today's nightly build we added a fix that will hopefully deal with this problem. Since we can't test it here, we're counting on you to try it out
