  • self illumination skipped when rendering on the farm.

I'm running into some new issues. Rendering using Phoenix in maya on the renderfarm causes lots of nodes to "skip" the self illumination calculation. However, if I disable all the xeon nodes and only use our i7 nodes it is almost without any errors???
It never happens inside maya, only when using command line rendering.

Using latest Phoenix build and vray 26646
I will try a later vray build as well...

Hmm, we have to find a way to reproduce this. Have you contacted Support about it?

Not yet. I ran into some other issues when trying to fix the diffusion thing i posted earlier. I will get you as much feedback as possible on the things I ran into, but I just need to make sure I can get the shots out in time first.

Just a quick update on this. It seems to be scene specific. I have another scene that renders just fine with the same versions of software, so it is not happening all the time.

do you have any light in the scene that produces the problem?
i suspect this is not self illumination, this is the default max lights, that are not rendered in DR mode (by design)

              Hi!
I'm rendering in maya, and I'm not using DR. I can see the "calculating self illumination" line is missing in the render log on those frames that does not have it.
