  • Frame stamp "render time" not accurate when using PHX3

    Hi,

This problem might come from VRay 3.5, but it's PhoenixFD 3 relative, so I post here. The frame stamp was not adding 1. "particle optimization" stage or 2. ocean displacement stage for the render time. I mean it actually took longer time than the frame stamp said, it doesn't consider the time PHX spending for foam/splash/mist particles optimization during render time.

Indeed, V-Ray doesn't take into account the pre-processing steps - I noticed that too. Will check with the V-Ray guys about it...

      that's great!

If PhoenixFD could save the "optimized particles" as another cache sequences, that could be even greater! because during look-development stage, I keep repeating that stage for each rendering.

        Hey,

This can't really be baked during cache export - the optimization stage depends on the size of the bubbles and whether you choose to render them as bubbles at all, and these are render settings of the Particle Shader. It could, however be saved to another cache file. I think we already have this requested in our issue tracker

        Cheers!
