  • weird flickering ocean animation result

    Hi There
I made successfully lots of Ocean simulation tests and they were ok and rendered very well
but to my surprise , after setting up everything for my final scene,
, I had an animation result that looked quite weird and dreadful !
I am sharing my settings :
(a separate rendered frame and you tube link of the animation atached )
Please help , I need to fix this simulation asap and have to use a Render farm,
also my 3ds Max 2017 scene is 62 gig , isn't this too much even thougth that
we are supposed to have heavy big files for ocean simulation ?Click image for larger version

    Hey,

This was already mentioned in another thread here a couple of days ago:

The ocean waves velocity was too high in the 3.0 Quick Setups, so you should manually decrease it and everything will be fine

If your caches are too large, you can always go to the Output panel and turn off particle channels or entire particle systems that you are not using.

    Cheers!

Thank you for your reply .
Sorry that I've missed that thread ,
I really try to read them all, documentation.
and also any tutorial available since 3.0 release , as well.
please send the link to this thread if you can.

You should just try reducing the Velocity of the ocean texture until it looks fine in animation - this should be all

the ocean texture at the displacement was 98 velocity , that was the problem , thank you
I was looking at the wave generator ocean texture.
will copy them to coincide , and shall be right.

Had the same issue here, did you edit the sharpness property? What did you change?
