  • Stuck on transforming vertices on Backburner servers 3ds Max 2014

    Hello all,

We've gotten 2 Phoenix FD workstation and 4 simulation license recently. The 4 sim licenses are deployed on 4 of our render machines with no problem.
The problem comes when we try to get simulation on the Backburner servers. The servers pick up the job without issue, but stuck on transforming vertices indefinitely.

For the record, our render servers are running vray renders with no problem. I've converted one of the render machine to a workstation, tried simulation on that machine and it can simulate without issue.
Any idea what could go wrong?

    Cheers,
    Alvin

    Hey,

Which version are you using? Do you go through the Phoenix submission menu or are you submitting the job in a different way? If you are using the menu, you must get a latest nightly (3.02.01) because there were issues with older backburners up to 3.00.02 - namely, 3ds Max first starts rendering and then runs the pre-render script, so we had to workaround this in a different way. If you don't see "Phoenix FD 3 for 3ds Max" in https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com, please drop an email to support@chaosgroup.com and they will help you get the access rights.

    Cheers!

      Hey there, appreciate your responses

We're using Phoenix FD Adv 3.00.02 max 2014 version, with 3ds Max 2014 SP5. We're submitting it via the top drop down Phoenix menu... Thanks for the heads up on the nightly, have sent email.

      Cheers,
      Alvin

Hello, thought I'd report in that the Nightlies version solved our problem. Thanks!
