  • Vray Sky and Smoke Sim

    Hello,

I'm doing some test with the smoke sim and I'm running into some issues with the Vray sky. I have an indoor scene of something catching on fire. However, I noticed that the smoke simulation is still picking up the Vray sky that is outside of the environment. Here is my render with the Vray Sky turned on. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0l4l6mvn5q...y_Sky.jpg?dl=0

As you can see, the smoke looks blue towards the top of the render. Now, if I disale the Vray sky, it looks normal. See render here https://www.dropbox.com/s/vtb03h9sz8...o_Sky.jpg?dl=0.

I'm not sure why this is happening seeing as we are inside of a tunnel and the Vray Sky should not have any effect on it. Any ideas on how to fix it without turning off the Vray Sky?

    Thanks,
    Dani

    Hello,

Is your tunnel open? Could it be that the there are some parts where the light from the sky get through? If you don't need GI you turn off the Receive GI option from the VRay Properties.

No, the tunnel is closed. I thought there might be some light coming in from the outside too, but I tested the scene without the smoke, and there was no difference in lighting when I turned the sky off and on. It looks like only the smoke picks up the outside sky.

Can you send us the scene then so we can take a look? You can send it to support@chaosgroup.com
