  • Slow performance

    hi
we have a scene where fire trucks hit boxes and dust occurs. For some reason CPU load is only 11% and performance is only 0.07. We usually get 2 million performance with 100% cpu usage with 10 core i9.

Can it be detailed boxes and fire trucks. Can detailed complex meshes inside the grid slow down phoenix? But still why not 100% cpu usage Thank you

      UPDATE:

after I restarted PC performance went up to 1.2 mil cells. We are using version 3.04.3 It seems with this version if you stop simulation and started it again it gets slow. 3ds max must be restarted. If one simulation is done and you open another 3ds max window for another simulation it is slow again and PC must be restarted. CPU is back to 100% usage and per frame speed went from 13 min to 1 min So there is some kind of a bug.

Plus this is my old post https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...mulation-stops

Also CPU usage is never always 100% it stays at 11% first 30 seconds then around 100% next 30 sec and so forth. We are using NVME .2 and files are not that big. Not sure if it is normal

Oh yes - voxelization of the scene geometry could get very slow if the geometry is complex and we still have to improve the CPU usage there so it can make the best out of your system. However, if a second run is slow, this is not okay - would it be possible to send the scene so we can check it?

        Cheers!

You are correct regarding the changelog - it's always one version ahead of the current nightlies because this it contains info for the next potential release.

However, I noticed there is a rendering issue with the latest nightly, ID 27789 - I will force new nightlies with a fix and they will be online in about an hour

          Cheers!
