  • Particle stop moving for a couple of frames (Liquid, Splash, Mist)

In this simple ocean-animation(a logo is coming from below to the surface) at a certain point, the particle stop moving for some frames and then continue to move(you have to scrub the attached video forward/backward to see the effect better). BUT this only happens on a very large particle amount e.g. i used a grid with 98m cells, If i'm using just 500.000 cells, everything is fine. Such strange effect are very often on different animations with high particle count.

    Hello,

Do you have Air Effects on?

      Pretty cool simulation, though!

Also, could it be that the fast flying particles are the splashes, while the slow falling ones are the foam? In this case, check the foam falling speed.

right now, i did some testing - all with the same result!!! WITHOUT COMPRESSING the .aur files, everything looks fine(for compressing i used in the past a storage quality of 18! Falling speed is the next that i check.

BTW: When compressing is off loading scenes (or scrub in the timeline), also rendering, is much faster. my files are stored on a m.2 drive or NAS with 10gb connection, so it is definitely a matter of "uncompressing" the .aur files - my cpu is a i9-7980XE @ 4.2ghz watercooled, so not a lack of cpu power. one file uncompressed is about 1.8Gbyte)

Indeed, it's a tradeoff between size and speed Ping me when you are able to check how the falling speed influences the sim.

              Cheers!
