  • Crazy emission at world origin

    Yo :P Any idea why there is a crazy emission at world origin when smoke overlaps the world origin point. All sources are inject and driven by particles, all emitting RGB.

    Thanks!

    Huh, crazy indeed! This looks kind of like this problem here: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...h-pf-as-source

    Let me try to repro it here. Is the PF source at 0,0,0 as well?

        Ahhh sure, here is a max 2017 scene! I'm just running a sim with the pflow icon off the world origin.

          Might have an idea.. shall test it .. I do have PHXsource which was set to emit white smoke but I have removed any particle systems from it so it is empty... maybe it is that! Shall delete and try.

          * nope, wasn't that :P

          ** I'll work around it by moving the action away from world origin, be cool to see if it is a bug tho.

            Looks like a bug, moving the simulator away from the origin seems to fix the emission problem. We'll let you know when it's fixed.

            Thanks,

                  Ah, something important if you got the latest nightly - I'm working on instancing volumes for preview and rendering in Max right now and there have been some issues because of that in the latest few nightlies because of that - most importantly fire lights and render cutter will not be working well until tomorrow's nightly, so please get that one too.
