Hi Cinema R20 has this new vdb volume modeling. Can Phoenix do this or any plans to make a similar plugin for 3ds max?

    Thanks

You can display a sim as a mesh surface and collapse it, it's kind of a bloblmesh / metasurface / frost type of thing normally though!

VRayDistanceTex and Phoenix FD can do something similar, but the setting is not easy and the calculation is slow. It can not be converted to polygon mesh in real time.

That of CINEMA 4D is the result of OpenVDB's native support implementation.
It may be an autodesk job.

Note that the distance texture is several times faster in V-Ray Next

Thank you! I am afraid it will take autodesk 10 years before they make something like this. They are so behind in sfx Houdini and now even cinema 4d is way ahead of them.
