  • Distributed Simulation

It is currently not possible to do a simulation via networked machines, right?
Is that a feature being worked on?

Thanks for any insight, as always!

Hello, it's currently not possible indeed and it's likely to stay this way - the core algorithms require frequent synchronization and tons of interactions between the cells, so they are not suitable for networking at all.

      hey thanks for the info.
thats too bad. so the only way to speed up the simulation is more and stronger cpu cores. we need super duper power machines!

Eh, yeah - some of the algorithms could work for example on the GPU, but most will not, or will need huge effort that could break a lot of other stuff.

We have some optimizations in mind, but currently we're working on making Phoenix more stable for the upcoming release, and just then we could have a go at it

I see! Of course faster speed would be nice but you are right: more stable simulations and easier handling are of a higher priority. right now I am feeling quite at loss a lot of times because often things are happening that I dont understand
