  • Path Force

    Afternoon

Would it possible to have the fluid not be affected by the spline when it gets to the end? Basically once it reaches the end it would be affected by normal dynamics.

    Thanks

    Hey,

Currently not - you could force that behavior by using a low Max Distance and high speed along the spline, so the fluid would be thrown out of the path's range.

I'm thinking about adding a helper that limits the forces' effect to a certain volume in the nightlies, so this might be helpful to eject the fluid from the spline more properly.

Yea that could work.. at the moment the high velocity option doesn't work. That's what I tried first time round, it just clumps at the end, almost static. Thanks

Done a little preview for you Fade start at 1 does the same thing also.

Dynamics generally don't work outside the influence of the path force, is that a bug?

Hmm, can you send that scene over so I can have a look? Thanks!

Alrighty, finally on this issue - so the change which added the option to choose a number of segments changed the behavior of the FollowPath force and in Wednesday's nightlies the original behavior of the fadeout is restored - the fadeout affects the influence, so this way the path force can never set the fluid to its exact values, but on the other hand can allow the fluid to accelerate and shoot out of the end of the path. With the scene attached, you can get the effect by setting follow speed to 160, pull to 300 and rotation to 50
