Does not work... it is a DVD-ROM only. It is the only way to get the full 1024x768 screen capture. I believe that that is listed on the website.

Bonefish are these freaky little fish that you catch in 1 to 2 feet of water. The things that is amazing abotu that is that they fight so hard. A 5 lbs bone fish can give you a 30 mins fight or longer and make you loose all your line. it can go from 0 to 25 mph in seconds. Not really good to eat. They are called bonefish for a reason. It is just about the sport. So mostly all catch a release.

Thats alright. I also have my pc hooked to my HD tv. So it should look great in HD on a 56" screen. Looking forward to getting this.

Hey Chris, got the video finally and all I can say is good job. I got a lot of usefull info out of it and cant wait till the next one

The only issue I have is when I got it, the dvd was scratched all to heck as it was not seated correctly in the case. It locks up every once in a while but Im not sure if that is the scratches or the player...

Nice work Chris. I wish that you would have included the textures for the tutorials. It would be easier to compare results with what you did, if they were there.

                  Other than that, great job!

                    Syclone1:
IMO its the disc, I would contact Gnomon and as them to ship you a replacement. As the disc was scratched when you got it.
I certainly wouldnt accept it if it were badly scratched.

                      To Syclone1:

Hey there. Yes, call Gnomon and tell them. I am sure they want to know. I am sure they would want to know.

                      To Tony:

Yea, Sorry I can't provide textures, since a lot of the textures I used were painted with elements form a library and I was concerned about copyright laws. All the elements should proper UVs so it wuld be easy to paint your own.

                          GNOMON VRAY DVD

                          Chris,
I have viewed your DVD 4 times through already and have really learned alot of VRAY and how adaptive the engine really is! Terrific DVD and learning tool. I tend to get huge scenes that I have to model for Engineering/Civil clients and always struggle because the client wants lots of vehicles, trees...the works in their scenes. Therefore, I am always looking for ideas when trying to crank out large stills in the shortest amount of time, like everyone else! VRAY, and your DVD, have helped reduce the amount of time it takes to render sceneslike these. Thanks!

Two questions (dealing with large outdoor scenes).

1.) Would you always stick with adaptive irradience schemes for these types of stills? I am using VRAY GI skylight and VRAY SPHERE for direct light of Sun. as my normal combo. I never can get HDRI to do much for fill light except give off purple and blue hues of lighting, plus they are a memory hit and I count every last hit of RAM when dealing with several million poly count scenes! I have a few good libraries from DOSCH and Marlin Studios.

2.) How did you do your textures for the bypass scene on the DVD? Export your UV maps to PShop and paint them directly on there then build your Shaders? I always have trouble getting around the turns in my roads.
                          Your look so Good!

                          Thanks for the Help!
                          Best regards,
                          Dave Vaughn

Don't shy away from HDRI's make sure you try it with color mapping or adding a LUT. The "heavy" saturation should go down as it gammas your image up which also desaturates the lighting. HDRI's are very important for exteriror GI. Now that you have those new HDRI libraries try them. I also really like the Sachform HDRI. Give them a look.

Yeap that is how I do it. The roads were build as lofts so that UVs were pretty simple since they follow the path.

We just received our video, the problem is I'm using Viz 2005, and the sample file is in Max7 format I beleive.

Is there any way for me to get around the missing Dlls?

Or is it possible to get a Max 6 version of the scene Chris?
