Chaos Group announces V-Ray 1.5 RC3 for immediate download
How can I use the MaxScript property. Thanks for some deeper step by step explanation.
In the way you would use any other MaxScript property. E.g. make V-Ray the current renderer, open the MaxScript listener (F11), type "renderers.current.system_numThreads=2" without the quotes and press Enter.
i did a tutorial once for max scanline where dof with transparant objects was done in layers. for a window example. i hid the glass and rendered my z-buffer normally. this will be applied to a normal rendered scene. then for the reflections i changed everything to black and rendered a fog pass only getting the reflection element. then re-render again getting once again only the render element for the fully textured scene. the reflections now have sort of a greyscale map that can be applied to the reflection and comped over the normal scene. i remember some moron trying to tell us that reflections dont have DOF if your focused on the reflective object. sheesh

how is that possible that you dont know where to get the download. dont you remember where you got it the 1st time? your posting on the forum which means your an official user. (unless up till now a technician has been handeling that for you in which case you might want to try in the chaosgroup website download section (under support))

Hmm...must be because i was sent an email with a link probably 6 or 8 months ago and didn't memorize that link...and that email is long gone.
The support section here gives me no downloads section. I have emailed Chaos as a reply to their email to us that the download was available....no link in that email...and have not recieved a reply...maybe you have some other suggestion beyond what i have done already.
