if you build it, they will come (and watch it)

    Great vids,

I would also love to see a definitive tut on LWF that would include the colour correct plugin and vfb, I know there is so much out there on this but there are variances between them and this only adds to the confusion, if we could expand on Lukx's tut would be great, thanks to Lukx fo that

tom182: i think lukx°s tut is pretty self explanatory and as is, its definitive, at least for me.

when u want to get your direct colors right, u have to use cc and change the gamma value to 2.2, which gives u the color u want.....u were asking in another thread whether the color will be correct...well that depends on the mood u will create with your skylight...if u will use the created mat on an object in studio scene with white lights u will find out that the colors match perfectly, provided u have calibrated monitor.....therefore in the open air midday scene, the colors depend on the skylight settings, u can also play with the white point setup to get all into perfection

Lukx tut is great and its easy for all to follow (considering its a vid),
but I know there are people here (myself included) that seem to have a difficulty after that, ie. optimal the colour mapping settings, gamma settings in the Vray Render dialog, colour correct plugin, Correction curves in VFB, best format to save images etc etc,.

regarding the second part of your reply, thats what I figured, I am getting very close to the values but think the difference is a monitor issue. In using the white point method are you implying to use the VRay Sun / Camera?

        cheers,
        Tom

Dont forget their are quite a few different ways to implement LWF

So unless the tut explained them all it wouldnt be much good. Just choose one of the methods that suits your workflow and go with it. There is about a million threads on the different ways of LWF.
