Quite a few new bits and pieces. Such as the new IR animation type to lower flickering. The new hybrid SSS type..etc..
Alot of improvments.. and many many bug fixes.

Right, sorted. Found out who the reseller was though Chaos and we are ordering the dongle this afternoon and it should arrive this week sometime.

Strangely enough, the reseller told me that there was nothing different between 1.5rc3 and this final version and the only reason chaos are doing this is to move from using the old license system and force dongle use.

....I took that with a pinch of salt. Anyway, cant wait!!!!

Daforce, am I right in thinking that if I upgrade later, My current scene that Ive been adjusting the vray sky for balance, will ask me if I want to keep the old one, or change to the new?

Are there any other settings that might need to be checked for continuity?

finally 1.5 is out, but my problem now is which is the right version?

I'm runnin' viz 2008 (that is 32 bit) on xp64 and I own the dongle?

xp64 version states that it works only with max9 x64
xp32 version that wibu driver is x32 ...but my OS is x64

any suggestions?!?

...for viz users: vray for x86 plus wibu drivers x64 directly dowloaded from wibu site ...seems to work.

I know, but i remember all the headaches during the 1.46 days of upgrading almost every other week and some feature or new feature had changed or had a bug in it.....

I'd really like to see what else has changed since the RCx's....

yep, opening old scenes will prompt a warning telling you that sky, sun, cameras and lights use new models, and it'll ask you if you want to keep the old ones or switch to the new ones. you can even change this later via global switches, there's a legacy sun/sky/camera models button there.

If VRay was Slick until 1.5 RC, it's now Schlick, and allow me to be happy about it
Really a nice release, better interface(s), a lot more thought into the design of the UI has been put forward, compared to the RCs (obviously...), and so much under the hood...

Same here. The UI looks exactly like it did before. Is there an option to change to tabbed display???
