  • Can someone on Max 9 and not on 1.5 Final please confirm this because now I can't remember if I am imagining it...

It appears that with the new tabbed render scene dialog the status of the whole dialog box gets saved when you close it and when you press the Render Scene dialog button or F10 the menu pops back to the same tab it was on before! I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, it used to revert back to the "Common" tab and you'd have to constantly tab over to the "Vray" tab, very annoying! It's a small improvement or tweak but it'll save a lot of frustration.
    www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

    • You're correct. The common tab does come up every new time the render dialog is opened. That's a nice feature, less mouse clicking.

      • I don't want to be the first, but.....................I've found a bug!

I make a daylight system, turn the light type to vray sun, ok to sky dialogue, then right click the sun to go to properties and I get a script listener dialogue, with Macroscript error; "--Unknown property: "globalIlluminationByLayer"in undifined"

        Anyone?

              • How annoying! Ive just tried it again and it is still erroring. And its doing it on another machine too. Im using Max 8, not 9.

                • Could you explain in more detail WHAT you are doing ? WICH properties are you trying to change ? I tried vray properties and object properties and it worked flawlessly

                  Thorsten

                  • Sorry I should have been more specific.

The error happens as soon as I right click on the sun object, after setting it to vray sun. Why I am right clicking is irrelevant.

So its a new scene, make a daylight system, set to vray sun, right click on it, and boom! I then have to close the error dialogue that appears, and avoid right clicking on the sun!
