question:
what´s the pricing policy to upgrade vray to 2.0 for those who use the educational versions? is it also 400 euro? (i purchased before august,1st 2010)
cheers
As for it being fixed, I thought he said it "was going to be fixed." In other words, it still hasn't been implemented yet unless you can show me otherwise. I bought it and assumed it would be corrected shortly afterwards, given Chao's great history on adding features and fixing bugs, that's why I didn't bother asking for a refund back then - plus, I was more than happy to support them. I thought all of these efforts were going to go into the next version so I've waited quite patiently. Over a year later, it's still useless for a group of us.
If you are satisfied with it, and used it successfully, why would this leave a bad taste?
Best regards,
Vlado
It's simply because the upgrade policy makes me feel that I was foolish to be an early adopter of RT, and that if I had waited I would have gotten the product for free as part of the upgrade to 2.0. I realize that rationally, I could choose to view the cost of RT as buying me 18 months of early access to the tech, but emotionally I feel just a little bit cheated.
Either way, it's not enough to make me even consider a different rendering engine. It's just that when I reach for my credit card to pay for the upgrade it'll be with a slightly heavier heart than I would have if I had received a discount for already owning RT.
I see that those that bought the summer bundle, vray + rt + pdplayer (discounted) get the 2.0 upgrade for free. I purchased each separately, which no doubt cost me more, and there is no option in the upgrade scheme for this? I totally can't wait to see what you guys put into 2.0, and will pay whatever you ask of me, but it would be cool to get a discount for having purchased all 3 of these (heck while you're at it I purchased Phoenix too!).
lol beestee. I was being sarcastic but to come to think of it, it actually isn't a bad idea lol...
This is the last I'll mention it. You'd just think there would be a little bit of a token break/consideration (even if it was only $100) to those that had made the RT purchase originally. I'll end my rant. Think it's been beaten up enough by now.
...maybe there should be a "donate now" button somewhere on this forum and see if you talk the talk or walk the walk.
This wouldn't be a bad idea if they could track it and know if you have donated enough to cover an upgrade or full license, that way you could effectually put a future release on layaway when you actually have the money to put towards it to invest in them. It would also make it easier to get that personal copy I have been longing for but just cannot dig up the funds for.
Oh well, maybe I should just start up my own personal VRay savings fund.
