    Restricting acces to the forums in any way, will help a lot, its a good idea..
    think of it like refining the GI solution..
    or improving the quality of contet....
    ... but yet leaving space for the upcoming ones

    I like it.

        I only wish I could be refined like a GI solution! At times I think I'm a few samples short of a clean render...

        Seriously though, I think you guys are doing the right thing by restricting access. It seems to work fairly well over at the Splutterfish forum.

          I would go one step further and vote for ONLY registered users being able to see anything!
          Kind Regards,

              Potential buyer will still have access to their own forum from the sound of it, and the people that "lend themselves" a copy will not have access. The lenders tend not to be buyers. They will still places likes cgtalk and other independed forums to ask the obvious questions.

                hmmm LOL tisho

                Generally I get hardly any replies to questions so I think this proposal is a good thing that will help get more feedback and tips for people like me.

                Im using vray at work seriously rather than just a part time social user so often I dont have time to solve every problem myself while learning the software and having tight deadlines at the same time

                  Hey guys;

                  Just visited the forum (after a nice long holiday break) and I FULLY back you up on the decision to have only customers post on the forum. Now with VRay having achieved such a massive audience, it's not like the old days when we were a small community and helping other members was fun.

                  Now, every other email I get is titled "Help me!", from some individual using a crack - which, as Peter pointed out, wastes everyone's time.

                  I am also astonished to see that having been given the privilage of an unlocked forum group for non-registered users, some people actually have the nerve to ask for a cracked version. This is insulting. I don't see why anyone would still be using a crack, when Vlado and Peter have been generous enough to give a free VRay version, as well as a full-featured DEMO version. I mean, what else could you ask for!?

                  So yeah, keep it locked up guys - I agree it's for the best.
