  • CG element integration - Matte reflection

    Hello,
Long time ago, I remember seeing a tutorial about matte reflection ...
But I don't find it anymore
Anyway, today, what I have to do is to integrate a CG element in a photo.
it's ok to catch the shadow but ... what is the best workflow to catch the reflection pass ?

Currently, I have my ground with matte object check / alpha contrib. to -1 and shadow & affect shadow

I have a extra tex-map with a dirt with Reflection occlusion...

Overall, could you please explain how to do the best way to integrate CG element ?

    Thanks a lot
    (Sorry for my bad english)

There is no simple way of doing reflection like you would shadow. Typically you would render it in a few render layers. Beauty, shadow, reflected beauty (on other objects) and matte to comp it in. In your case you can set reflective occlusion to be Red/Green so for all reflected objects it will return solid color which you can then use in comp to key in your beauty reflection.

      Thanks Morbid,
In fact, I would like to "isolate" the reflection.
It's really tricky because the person who will comp, need to have shadow and reflection aside. I have no control on comp...
      I know, it's a shitty job...
Is there a way to do it all at once?
