  • multimatte and vrayblend

im using gpu and i noticed that with base mtl in vrablend set to id1, and coat material (masked only to certain areas) set to id 2, my multimatte shows only id of base mtl.

i tried setting coat mtl mask map to id2 as well, but no change.

i thought "pff, just your typical gpu limitation, looks like i have to switch to cpu again"

    switched to cpu, same result.

is it possible that i cannot use multimatte with blendmtl? any alternative if so, ideally one which works on gpu?

    cheers!

works fine for me (in cpu) (Next 1.1)

What materials do you have in there?

And are you sure the multimatte has the id numbers listed correctly?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

ok ive tested better and it seems its yet another thing that doesnt work in gpu. we could really do with a few more basic features from vray cpu being brought over to gpu.. "affect all channels" for refraction, and things like the above are very high on my list. ive set up an animation that is nice and fast on gpu, but painfully slow on cpu. now i have to switch to cpu rendering.

i end up switching to cpu partway through almost every job i start on gpu. its very frustrating.
