  • Motion blur help..

    Hey.

I'm having an issue with motion blur and I'm not quite sure how to fix it.

So I have a boat moving across a phoenix ocean. The boat, camera and ocean are all linked to a dummy that is controlling the forward motion (the motion is completely linear). I am wanting to bake in the motion blur for the final image.

The problem I am having is that with even though my camera and boat aren't moving in relation to each other, I am getting motion blur on the boat to the same degree as I am on the water/foam/spray etc. I'm sure I had this working before and must have toggled a setting somewhere that has just messed it up.

I am using max 2018 with the physical camera, motion blur is on in the camera and set to 1 frame, which equates to 1/30. Then in my render settings, I have motion blur and camera blur enabled.

    Cheers

Are you checking the motion blur in IPR? Then this problem here might be related: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...y-wrong-result

no, this is all on the CPU final render, not IPR. There's too many particles and displacement to be using IPR

I have also tried setting the samples to 1 and duration to 0 in VRay Object Properties to turn off mo-blur for the boat but that doesn't seem to work either
