maybe you had "conserve memory" on?
Does it make a difference in the latest version of NEXT?

does it make a difference, though, turning it on with the newer V-Ray?

Super! In our tests, conserve memory not only reduced RAM use, but also made rendering marginally, but consistently, faster!

If possible send the scene to our support - maybe there's some issue in the update that causes higher memory usage.

                      Well, make it default then...

It wasn't actually faster in all cases. For many scenes there was some slowdown instead. It wasn't too big, but I'd like to evaluate it more carefully before flipping the default.

                        Best regards,

                              Thank you Alex,
I'm testing the provided scene right now and the same behavior occurs on my machine here. While the 4.10.03 can handle it well, the latest Stable 4.2 and nightly build fails at the building raycast acc. Will continue troubleshooting it with our developers...
