  • DR takes a while to start up

I don't know if I am just now noticing this, or if it has changed in the recent builds, but it seems like whenever I use DR now, it usually doesn't seem to kick in until about 25% through the irradience map calculation. And until then, the main buckets seem to take longer and then speed up once DR is active.

Has anybody else noticed this or have an explanation why this is happening?

I have noticed that when I'm working on a huge model. I always attributed it to file transfer time for model, maps, etc. to render nodes.

    No proof though....

it all depends on your file size and the size of your maps.
      Network speed is another issue.

      What sizes are your files?

That might have something to do with it then. My scene isn't very large, only about 10mb, but I think I do have a couple pretty large texture maps. Maybe I'll try re-sizing them and compressing more to see if that makes any kind of difference. Thanks.

Hey you guys are genius's. I sized down a few of the maps and this time DR kicked in a lot quicker.

          Thanks!
