Yes thats better I think you could do with brightening it up a bit. Looking at the original thread, youve already made the lighting much better. Maybe you simply need to play with some levels in photoshop? Only thing i can really think why the scene doesnt look too right is because of your texturing. The grass texture for example tiles too obviously and there's something not quite right about the roofs on the houses..you could try making them slate or something?

Tiling in the grass? Are you sure you're not seeing the watermark?
Roof is to be shingle similar to what I have shown. Perhaps it is too reflective?sigpic

Percy - I agree with you in that this should be handled in a personal manner and not brought to the forum - But by being a moderator on the forum there is no way around it since this is where the business is being generated and offered - It is a total conflict of interest

Yes i think the watermark was distracting me. I think the grass needs some colour variation anyway, its the same shade of green everywhere. Also, the car-park gravel is too uniform and flat in my opinion. In the areas where there are grass 'islands' in the gravel, some sort of border around the grass might work better that what you have now.

That is what I thought this forum was for - I must be mistaken -

No sweat Natty. I just need to keep this project moving. I haven't heard back from you, so I figured you must be busy and thought I'd solicit some lighting advice from the forum.sigpic

I still havent had time to give it a go with vray yet. The one thing thats handy about mw is I can close max and set it to low priority and carry on with other stuff. I just did this to see the result,I was fortunate that I appeared to get the bloody camera setting correct.
Still prefer vray though

Ive just finished a job where initially I did a set of renders for the client that showed the building a similar distance from the camera to your project. I had the same problem...I think at a certain distance, you just start loosing the colour variation and lighting detail. The client wasnt happy with my images untill i re-rendered close shots of the building which picked up much more of the lighting detail
So for me, the lighting where you used the standard vray mat looks good although if this is using HSV colormapping then you may be loosing contrast which is essential at a distance. For the closer in shots, ive found HSV colormapping is fine but for the long distance ones, I think you need linear otherwise the image looks a bit flat. Has anyone else come to the same conclusions?
I dont see whats wrong with posting a scene and asking for help. Personally I dont have time to test this scene out as ive already got a work PC at home to work some of my stuff out. Personally though I dont think theres much wrong with the lighting you had...maybee needs a bit more yellow in the direct light or something but I think the perspective is what you need to work on to illustrate the buildings from closer in maybee.
Im not master though and these are just my opinions. I think its resonable if people who know more ask for a consultants fee if this is what people are getting at...?
