Good bench for "dempsey".
Hope to see "core 2 duo" and a 2x "woodcrest" Xeon bench soon.
I am about to upgrade my main Pc.
So far a dual 280 Opteron is the primary choice but if "dempsey core"
is that good I wonder what "woodcrest" times will be....
we did a benchmark on our new dell workstation.
2x dual core xeon 5050 "dempsey" 3.0 ghz, 2 gb RAM, VRAY 1.49.25
time: 3.18,20 min
regards
chris
Does anyone know how this time done on 1.49.25 compares to the others done on 1.47.03? I also don't understand the time-3 min, 18secs? what's the 20 min
www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

1.49's have been a little faster than 1.47.03 I don't think there is enough data to get a good difference though. Oh and the 20 is 2/10's of a second.

I love this thing.
This is one of our new rendering blades. We purchased the rack and built them in house. 10 blades in 8u of rack space with remote management. Staff can now login from home and turn them on and off remotely.

Lucetius - not to hijack this post - but can you chat a bit more about the blade setup? I have been wanting to do this for a while but that damn lottery ticket hasn't hit yet. I didn't know you can make your own. Were did you get the "controller" unit? And was this more reasonable than Dell?
