Yeh they have me very impressed / spoilt -I have a couple of Opterons 280. 2.41 Ghz. in my boxtech work rig and it feels like working on a palm pilot compared to my machine at home

I'm still a bit confused about how to proceed. I sure need some pc upgrade here.

First choice would be Core Duo E6700. The Second could be an X6800 .. because i can't see so much difference but the price that is.. actually double.

I'm not sure if it matters or not, but I noticed a slight difference with the 1.5 version. I checked the sub-sample box in the color mapping section. My render time was a few seconds slower than the test I did with 1.46.15.

windows server 2003 actually. We have a proprietary domain server that has issues with xp64 unfortunately. We're trying this out for possible renderfarm upgrade. It renders this about twice as fast as our current machines. Which are dual 3.0 xeons.
