Would you believe mine is "AA D27094-305"
So where does that put me?
Just flashed the BIOS with the latest version and got 6:23

Yep. I've DL'd it several times now.
You know what though... Unzipped, the file I have is called "cornelltestnew_1.5", but there are a couple I've found that when unzipped are called "cornelltestnew_1_5".
The "1.5" file asks for a missing tga (some diffuse map, by the name of it). The object that uses it isn't visible though, so I didn't think anything of it.
I just rendered the "1_5" file and got a better time. 5m 8.7s
1.5 file is dated 8/13
1_5 file is dated 8/16
Who's in charge of version control around here, anyway???
(So - how does 5:09 sound for this machine?)

Ok thanks. I was going by Spikeadeliv's post on page 22 where he got 3:30 with the exact same setup as mine. It was with 1.47 which I also tried with the same resulting time but maybe he's OCing. I can live with my purchase now!"A severed foot would make the ultimate stocking stuffer"

I'm thinking of getting a 6400. Bear in mind i'm on a fairly tight budget and building for £750, so going any higher isnt an option.
How easy is it to overclock? What cooling will I need, what should I look out for?
Ive never done this before, but ive heard that they overclock really well and most people ive seen with one have done it.
I'll run the benchmark on my current home pc this weekend if you all fancy a good laugh.

i cant wait to see the benchmarks from these
http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/09/...age/index.html
it will be amusing to see how long this thread lasts to see how fast we can make this scene render with newer and newer hardware. We may eventualy have to use the first cornelltest that was originaly posted (before it was made faster) that took too long to renderONLY TRUST A COMPUTER YOU CAN THROUGHT OUT A WINDOW
