  • VRayBlend and Displacement

    Hi

I have a VrayBlend material where one of the coat materials has a displacement map in it.
The textures inside that materials use Map Channel 3

On the mesh, I have a UV Map, using channel 3, and a certain size, which I aligned where I wanted it

Then I have a DisplacementMod, also set to texture channel 3.

What I need to do is to make the displacement build downwards from the surface. Right now, it builds upwards. Can this be done?

Using a minus value in the 'amount' should do it

if you like, take a look at the max-file.
Its all set up, just press render so you see the starting point. Then you can see if this is solvable.

The base marterial can be swapped out to anything. I used Grass A from the Vray Material Library

I guess this is what you want....
You had displacement going in the shader too, so it was messing it up a bit, so just unlink that.

I've inverted the displacement map which was the main issue apart from that.
