  • Convert Corona to Vray

I'm a Corona user but have a project that requires me to use Vray. I know it's super easy to convert from Vray to Corona, but I can't figure out how to do it the other way. All topics I can find on it on google are dated. Any tips for me? As far as I can tell corona legacy materials are supported by Vray6, but not corona physicalMats, so I need some way to convert them

i would be interested in this too.. it seems the corona-vray workflow isnt very polished... you'd have thunk that when chaos bought corona, interoperability would have been a top priority..

Yeah I hope there is a better solution. I had to download the corona trial (good thing I could use it) to convert some materials to vray. It said missing material and broke all the color and data inputs just by opening the scenes I had to convert.

Better way to do this if corona isn't available to you?

Why would it not be, given there's no need for it to be licensed in any form?
Regardless, If a plugin is not installed and correctly loaded, its classes (f.e. the Materials) aren't loaded, and can't be represented in the DCC app, therefore they can't be converted.

Maybe want to consider giving an installation option to have some corona lite version installed together with vray for these kinds of things?
          A.

A Corona-made scene ought to load properly for the conversion to take place, removing UIs isn't for free, and it would be detrimental to the user for no good reason (i.e. a conversion fails, user can't inspect the shader.).
            What's left to remove?
