  • vrimg2exr save meta data/info from vrimg file

    Hi,

    Hoping someone can help me.

Ideally I'd like to be able to put the cameraname, contained in the vrimg info, into the output filename of the exr. Is this possible?

Or even having that data accessible as metadata once the file has been output as an exr would be useful. At the moment the details tab in properties on Windows deosn't show anything for the output files.

Has anyone done this? Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks,
    J

Yes, the metadata *is* saved in the converted EXR.
If you save an EXR from the raw file save dialog, the metadata will be filled for you.
I am however unsure if windows' file properties are able to read openEXR's specific metadata at all.
Use nuke, or equivalent tool, to be sure of what you have written in the file.

I have tried this out, and indeed it's just the reading being wrong for windows file properties: see attached (exr converted from the vrimg)

Thanks, that's good to know! I'll do some investigating. Also, just wanted to say thanks Lele for the scripts and info you've put up on the forum in the past. All been very helpful and timesaving over the years.
