Hey
I´ve been working with vray for a couple of years now but one thing I still haven´t figured out is how to render out products in front of a pure white background (which was always requested by a company I worked for) or in front of a transparent background so that I can change the background later in post. I´ve tried many approaches I found in YouTube videos but I couldn´t really find a solution that works great for me. But since this is something that customers have already asked a couple of times I´d really love to know how this works.
I haven´t really worked with Blender a lot before but one thing I noticed is that there´s a tiny checkbox called "Transparent" with an additional option for "Transparent Glass" which works like magic! I attached a screenshot of a super basic glass object which I could render with pretty much 0 knowledge in Blender within maybe 2 minutes. Is this somehow possible in VRay? If not, is there any chance you can implement something like this? I´m pretty sure that many other VRay users (especially the ones that haven´t been working in the industry for a really long time) are struggling with this, too. Pure white backgrounds (or transparent backgrounds) are just really handy to have, whether it´s for commercial shots or for customers who´d like to have a higher flexibility in post or just in general for personal projects
.
If this option already exists it´d be amazing if someone could help me with this. If not it might be a good addition to upcoming VRay versions?!
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Kind regards,
Soluna
