  • Curves and Enmesh

Wondering if there is a way to use Enmesh with a 3d curve. I am trying to create some stiches on a seat

Not sure about that but the latest Max 23 update has a nifty new array feature which would appear to be able to do stitches very easily.

Hi it should work for stiches. Enmesh works on a curved surface. Please share the results if you get to create stiches with VRayEnmeshMod.

If by 3d curves, you mean splines - it won't work. But you can always outline the spline to create a polysurface.

I love Enmesh but I’m not sure is the optimal tool to add stitches, it’s faster to scatter them along spline using a standard distribution tools, unless you have embedded stitches in the fabric (here are some of my tests https://forums.chaos.com/forum/v-ray...-favorite-tool ).

We did the stitching in the past with the old 3dsMax object paint. That one can place objects along a spline.
