  • Enmesh on GPU replacer

    Hello world,

I understood that Enmesh is not working on GPU, I hope it's comming soon because it's really a tool that I'm waiting for a lonnnng time.

I want to know if the community knows a third way to perform such a thing, scattering objects on 3D surfaces with regularity? Like a pluggin, a third party, a material technique, anything...

Im using Forest Pack and Railclone on a daily basis, but unfortunately, I'm not abble to do such a simple thing.

Example : a vertical facade that is multi curved and round at the same time. Or even to scatter properly on a sphere is for me a mystery.

    Any help ?

    Thanks.

Rail Clone could perform such a task. I am not sure about your specific case but it is worth a test.

      Hello There,

Thanks for the response. I confirmed with the railclone support that it's unfortunately not possible.

You can do pretty much the thing with forest pack, but missing the bend and cut quality of railcone. As far as I know, only enmesh can do it for now.

Can you share a screengrab? What are you scattering and what do you want to achieve as end result?

On the image below what I want to perform :

In the middle, a box I want to scatter (as a cladding objet)
On the left side, a sphere with the Enmesh modifier
On the right side, a sphere with a forest object in UV mode. Same forest object on the weird parametric surface in the back.

Enmesh transform and bend the scattered object wich is exactly what I want to do. Forest can't do it, neither as Railclone.

You could try to use SlideKnit: https://www.dkcgi.net/category/plugins/ or QuadScatter: https://cganimator.com/mcg-quadscatter-1-5/
