Is there a way (script) to add a subdle motion blur to a slection of objects? I know the script can't know which direction of travel, but the script could have some options like left, right, or front, back. IDK, just wondering.

That has been what I have been doing. I don't like putting people in my scenes, but sometimes they call for them. They look like zombies, so I need movement.Bobby Parker

Directional mb in PS is what I was thinking...not really many other quick options...could cut limbs to layers and apply it to make it a bit more realistic (total ballache) but other than that your looking at
buying mocapped models, which could get very pricey.
One thing you need to do is to add reflections to the people...many if not the majority of the Chaos ones don't have maps for reflection but even so, it adds if you manually do it

So you want the people to be motion blurred, but the camera is moving, while the people are static (but blurred)?
You can set up sub-frame animation that happens between frame 0 and frame 1 on the people and set the keyframes to loop infinitely. This way you get an object that is not moving, but is motion blurred because it actually is moving back and forth between every keyframe. You may have to adjust the motion blur offset in whatever direction you make the motion (before or after the current keyframe).
That help?

The camera is stationary and the people would have motion blur. I'll look into your suggestion (sub-frame animation).Bobby Parker

Do you need very specific people? https://renderpeople.com/4d-people/
Ive used them before to add motion blurred walking people to my shots. I was happy with the results.

if I remember correctly, if you select all objects in the scene and set their motion blur samples to 1, then they will have no motion blur (in vray properties), and then you can sent select objects motion blur samples to 2, and set your camera shutter to a low value, then only those objects will get motion blurred.Dmitry Vinnik

Yes, I know how to animate people, but when you have dozens, it is time consuming. I just want a simple way to add a little motion blur to everyone.Bobby Parker
