I have a client who wants no shadows on her house. I do get this request often, and I find it very strange. I did an overcast day, and the shadows were what she liked, but then she said it was too gloomy and wanted a sunny blue sky. What do you recommend, a back lite house?

What about just placing the the sun aligned with the camera but higher in the sky. The thing I think most of us try and avoid if at all possible.www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

I had an architect who once told me that he was AWARD WINNING! Request no shadows on any of his work. Maybe she wants HDRI, you know, those over-processed images you see on real estate websites. Actually, I have two clients asking for the same thing. Here is one and she wants no shadows.
and the other one who wants no shadows.

I tried to make my sky invisible and a separate sky in the environment slot so that I could control them separately, which kind of works. She wants overcast lighting with a clear blue sky. I do think that the shadows are a little too dark, and they are too noisy to boost in Photoshop.Bobby Parker

Yes, I suggested a backlight, and I would expose the sky to get some detail back.Bobby Parker
